Sr. Pastors Dennis & Sue Austin

Rev. Dennis Austin has been the Senior Pastor of Bethel Christian Center of Federal Way (BCC) for fifteen years after being a youth and associate pastor at Bethel Temple in Seattle from 1990 to 1993.
He served as a volunteer chaplain with the South King Fire and Rescue department from 1996 until he became the Senior Chaplain for the City of Federal Way Police department in February 2007.  During his time as a volunteer chaplain, he acquired extensive training in Basic Homicide Advocacy, Hospital Chaplaincy, and Hospice Chaplaincy
In May 2002 he joined the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, completing courses in Basic and Advance Stress Management and Advocacy for Emergency Service Personnel He is also a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, completing the requirements of Basic Certification.
Rev. Dennis is a licensed and ordained minister in the Protestant tradition since 1990.  He graduated from Portland Bible College (now called City Bible), Portland, Or. in 1980 and continued his theological education at Bethel Temple Bible School from 1982 to 1984. Dennis has been married to his wife, Sue, for twenty seven years. They have lived in Federal Way, WA. for twenty six years. He enjoys woodworking and fly fishing, and vacationing with his wife.
