History of Bcc

Bethel Christian Center (BCC), originally founded Bethel Temple, began in the summer of 1914. It is the second oldest church in Seattle, Washington. Bethel built its Temple in Seattle in 1920. The thirty (30) acres currently owned by BCC were purchased by Bethel Temple for camp meetings in 1939. The surroundings of the campgrounds were very appealing and as such, decisions were made to build cabins on the grounds, which instituted the "birth" of Bethel Chapel. Summer Youth Camps were started in 1954 and we are continually updating the facilities.

Autonomy for BCC was granted from Bethel Temple in April 1996. BCC is an outreach ministry meeting the individual needs of the people in its community. In addition to the Daycare and School Age Program, BCC has conference and convention facilities, camps, retreats, helping hand ministries, and restoration ministry houses. Our ministry also includes a Christian School, Life Academy Of Puget Sound, for grades K – 12.

We endeavor to show love as Christ loved us - extending our outreach in practical lifestyle application - opening our beautiful park to the community and providing more opportunities for the people of this community to use our facilities for personal and group activities and functions. We plan to move forward in more educational programs, day camps, retreats, adult care programs, residential restoration, and helping hand ministries.

John 15: 12, 13

"My commandment is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater Love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

Our Philosophy

Bethel Christian Center Church is a non-denominational fellowship of believers who have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, and wear no name but Christian. We believe that Christ is the Head of His Church and, therefore, every Christian is a part of His body. We do not believe that we are the only Christians but earnestly strive to be Christians only. We seek to speak where the Bible speaks and to remain silent where the Bible is silent. We take the Bible and the Bible alone as our only rule of faith and practice.
I want to encourage you to consider making Bethel Christian Center your church home. We believe that Bethel Christian Center is one of the most exciting churches in the Seattle metropolitan area.
In selecting a local church to attend, one should be extremely careful to select a church that reflects authentic Christianity. Here are 5 marks of a biblical church:

Evangelistic
The early church existed to reach un-reached people.
Loving
The early Christians were known by their intense love for one another.
Bible Preaching
The early church preached the Word of God.
Praising
The early church unashamedly lifted their voices in praise to God in song and spoken praise.
Praying
Where believers pray churches grow!

We believe that Bethel Christian Center meets the above qualifications! Let me invite you to become part of a dynamic and bold fellowship. If you have any questions about BCC or the procedure for membership, please feel free to contact one of our staff.
